PAWS AND FEET
We showcased the work of Brazillian pet photographer, Elayne Massaini of Pet Photos, a few months ago (with her Bath Time mini-series). Well she’s back on Featured! again, this time with a bright and colourful series called Paws and Feet.
Portraits of different dogs and cats as they sit faithfully by the feet of their humans are shot against different coloured backdrops. The images are simple and bold, with the studio backdrops carefully chosen to complement each model’s own fashion choices. From the shiny black cat and his owner’s black tattooed ankles, to the pink ribboned Yorkie and her human’s matching pink converse. Massaini has managed to bring so much unique personality into each portrait.
FROM THE ARTIST
It all started when I randomly photographed a dog with his owner’s feet during a session.
At the next shoot, I did it again.
Then again, and again.
Now it’s an obsession! I love to photograph pets by the feet of their people and have started to collect all these different portraits with bright colours and quirky personalities.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
I'm Elayne, graduated in advertising from FAAP. I love learning about photography - my first course was way back in 1993, after my father gifted me my very own camera. Always in love with horses, I completed a horse photography course in 2004 with Paula de Silva. I discovered that nothing could be better than uniting photography and horses, and that’s when my hobby became my career.
Fast forward to today, Pet Photos is a family owned and operated business in São Paulo, Brazil. We specialise in bright and colourful pet and horse photography.
