Hello! I’m super excited that you’re keen to join us on the podcast, and I know the audience are going to appreciate all that you share- so thank you for scheduling this interview!

Below is some information that may be useful, and if you scroll to the very bottom you’ll find a scheduling calendar.

Looking forward to chatting with you soon -Kirstie!

3 STEPS TO SOUNDING GREAT

  • 1. Don't Panic!

Podcasts are an informal medium, and sound best when the guests are having a real conversation, rather than talking in sound bites. You don't have to be ‘radio perfect’.

Our episodes are all pre-recorded, so if you make a mistake or don’t know the answer to a question, we can always edit it out later. Our listeners want to hear the real you, and they want you to enjoy yourself. If you're having fun, they'll love listening to you!

  • 2. Microphone

Use an external microphone if you have one. If not, use a headset or wireless earpods. If you don't have those either, you can use your computer's built-in microphone — but that should be a last resort, as the sound quality will be poorer.

Please do not use a microphone attached to wired earphones - they tend to pick up every rustle against clothing.

  • 3. Headphones

If you have them (and they’re not wired with a microphone), wear headphones or earbuds. They’ll prevent your mic from accidentally recording our voices too.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • We’ll need a headshot of you, and if you’re a photographer we’d love one or two photos from your portfolio for the shownotes and episode promotion.

Please feel free to include your watermark/logo.

We’ll also need a brief bio, your usual links plus any promo or affiliate links if applicable.

  • We typically record a few months in advance but we’ll be able to tell you the exact date at the time of our interview if you need it.

  • The Pet Photographers Club podcasts are very conversational and we do not typically use prewritten questions.

Rather, we prefer to have a general topic related to your business or expertise and see where the chat takes us.

We will have a 5-10 minute pre interview chat before we start recording so we can go over the topic and plan.

  • Interviews usually go for 45 minutes and are divided into two parts.

The first part goes out to our entire audience and the second part (the extended episode) is reserved for club members only.

We like to save your juiciest tips for the second part!

  • AKA - Do I have to get out of my comfy clothes?

    Nope, interviews are audio only!

Occasionally we will record a video episode if we need to visual medium to show off your photography, but we’ll plan that in advance if that’s the case!
